Keynote Speaker Series Offshore Wind Thread
The exponential growth in demand for offshore floating wind in the U.S. presents a unique opportunity to build the full value chain from the ground up and advance offshore wind technology. However, this imminent industry faces several challenges, including a limited supply chain and workforce, a lack of port and transmission infrastructure, and long permitting requirements. Unless these issues are addressed, the industry will not move forward in a sustainable manner. John Eggers, Chief Technology Officer of Vestas North America, will share the OEM perspective around what is needed to build a sustainable, financially viable floating offshore wind industry, discuss current industry challenges, solutions, and opportunities, and present best practices to deploy the first US floating projects on-time.
