The energy transition is underway, but it is not yet happening at the scale or on the timetable required to achieve society’s climate goals. ExxonMobil has cumulatively captured more human-made CO2 than any other company on the planet, and we’re expanding our long-term storage capacity in anticipation of market developments. ExxonMobil sees an opportunity to create a carbon capture and storage business with the capacity to reduce emissions across the U.S. Gulf Coast by more than 100 million metric tons per year.
