Energy Evolution Exchange
The oil and gas sector has connected many offshore platforms, but most still run fragmented OT networks. Pipelines, terminals, tank farms, and refineries often depend on mixed legacy radio, Wi-Fi, and leased lines that can’t provide the deterministic performance, security, or visibility required for modern operations. This limits the ability to scale connected-worker, real-time monitoring, and continuous emissions use cases from single assets to the full energy value chain.
Additionally, we will share insights on how digitalization and AI are beginning to influence crewing strategies, workforce planning, and operational efficiency—and how Nimbus Marine Group is integrating these advancements into global workforce solutions.
This presentation explains how Ericsson enables the connected energy enterprise by extending private 4G/5G and mission-critical connectivity beyond the platform to pipelines, terminals, and refineries. We introduce a reference architecture that unifies offshore private networks, wide-area backhaul, and onshore campus networks into one industrial-grade connectivity fabric. Built on Ericsson Private 5G, 5G RAN/Core and mission-critical capabilities, it delivers secure, low-latency, and resilient connectivity for OT workloads end-to-end—from subsea sensors and moving equipment to control rooms and cloud analytics.
Using real deployment examples, we quantify impacts on safety, uptime, and sustainability, including automated inspections, leak and corrosion monitoring, digital twins for critical assets, and connected-worker solutions that span multiple facilities. We also outline a practical roadmap from pilot to multi-asset rollout, including IT/OT security alignment and how to evaluate return on investment with oil and gas–specific value frameworks.
Attendees will leave with a blueprint to transform isolated OT islands into a connected, intelligent energy enterprise.
