OTC 2026 Executive Dialogue Series

The OTC Executive Dialogue Series is OTC’s most exclusive, invitation-only speaking platform, reserved for C-suite executives, senior industry leaders, and government officials shaping the future of offshore energy. This premier forum convenes decision-makers for candid, high-level conversations that influence strategy, policy, and investment across the global energy landscape.

Distinguished by its peer-to-peer format and limited participation, the Executive Dialogue Series is designed for open, substantive exchange among leaders navigating the industry’s most consequential shifts—from digital transformation and breakthrough technologies to regulatory priorities, and corporate evolution. Discussions draw on real-world experience and current policy perspectives, offering insights that extend well beyond the conference stage.

Participation in the OTC Executive Dialogue Series reflects both leadership and influence, providing a rare opportunity to engage directly with the executives and policymakers driving progress, innovation, and long-term direction in offshore energy.

Fueling the Future and Powering the World

The global energy landscape is currently defined by a challenging paradox: the urgent need to power the world’s increasing energy needs while simultaneously providing basic energy access to the most impoverished populations. Countries around the world are facing the dual necessity of maintaining energy security while evolving the infrastructure required for a high-tech future central to many economies. Central to these challenges are geopolitical and economic shifts such as the shale revolution that transformed the United States into a leading energy producer, fundamentally altering global trade dynamics and market stability.

Join us for what will be a very interesting discussion for approaching these challenges both domestically and internationally including such questions as:

  • Can the success of the shale revolution in the US be translated to other countries? Can it be de-risked enough to be successful?
  • How will advanced AI data centers impact deliverability for other energy needs?
  • What role does additional offshore development have in the US energy mix? Is a resurgence on the horizon?
  • What conditions are necessary to continue incentivizing LNG export development on both US coasts and Alaska?
  • What role does the US DOE play in energy development outside of the US?

Filling the Production Gap: Opportunities for the Offshore Industry

The current macro environment would indicate some level of sufficient or even oversupply of oil and gas production, which has been reflected in commodity prices and activity levels in several basins worldwide.  This near-term signal is, however, probably out of step with longer-term supply and demand balance outlooks, which would indicate oil and gas will remain a key element in the supply equation for some time to come.

In this Executive Dialogue, we will discuss where the Offshore Industry fits in this scenario:

  • How big of a gap should we expect and why?
  • What is the potential balance between exploration of new basins and production from existing basins?
  • How critical is technology in improving the volumes and cost of supply?

Exploration in the Demand Decade

The “Demand Decade” refers to the projected 2026–2035 period in which global energy demand is expected to grow at an unprecedented pace, driven by AI growth, data center expansion, cloud computing, electrification, and industrial development across the Global South. Forecasts indicate that electricity demand from data centers could double by 2030, with AI related energy use increasing severalfold over the same period. This surge underscores the need for an all of the above energy strategy, where oil, gas, and other sources play complementary roles in ensuring global economic growth, security, and reliability.

In this environment, exploration is strategically essential, enabling secure supply, supporting diversification, and strengthening global economic resilience. The exploration sector is therefore central to navigating and powering the Demand Decade.

Succinct Summary of Discussion Themes

  • Conditions that enhance the competitiveness of frontier exploration
  • Exploration’s role in meeting global energy needs while supporting environmental stewardship
  • Technologies that strengthen investment in resilient, lower‑carbon, lower‑cost resources
  • Managing above‑ground risks and enabling factors for successful exploration
  • The importance of fiscal stability and long‑term policy alignment
  • The role of effective partnerships across industry, government, and technology sectors
  • Improving societal understanding of exploration’s contribution to energy security and global development

From First Oil to 100,000 BOPD: Insights from Beacon’s Shenandoah 20K Development

The Shenandoah development in the deepwater Gulf of Mexico represents one of the first commercial applications of 20,000-psi technology for high-pressure/high-temperature reservoirs in the Inboard Wilcox trend. From sanction to first oil and achieving 100,000 BOPD within 75 days of first production, the project demonstrates how advanced subsea systems, floating production infrastructure, and specialized production chemistry enable reliable development of ultra-deep reservoirs at ~30,000-ft depth. The presentation highlights lessons learned in project management, flow assurance, corrosion control, and scale management for next-generation HP/HT offshore developments.
