Student and Teacher Workshops

The Energy4me Student and Teacher STEM Workshops at OTC 2026 offer an immersive, hands-on exploration of the offshore energy industry. Designed for high school students and science educators, these free, one-day programs combine interactive STEM activities, expert-led instruction, and an exclusive guided tour of the OTC exhibit floor—one of the largest energy technology showcases in the world.

Participants engage with industry professionals, gain real-world context for classroom learning, and walk away with valuable educational materials and resources. Whether you’re inspiring the next generation of energy leaders or strengthening your own curriculum, the Energy4me Workshops deliver an unforgettable and impactful learning experience.

Energy4me Student STEM Workshop

The OTC Energy4me Student STEM Workshop welcomes high school students to this free, one-day workshop. Students receive hands-on training from qualified facilitators, listen to a presentation from a prominent energy professional, and tour the OTC exhibit floor. Additionally, teachers receive a variety of free instructional materials to take back to their classrooms. This year, the student workshop is generously sponsored by ExxonMobil.  

This energy education workshop is not only a lot of fun for the students, but it is also incredibly educational. Because we use hands-on activities, students do not passively listen to a lecture; they must think through a problem or situation.

Explore age-appropriate energy curriculum through hands-on activities. Instructors from the National Energy Education Development Project (NEED), the leading provider of energy education programs and materials to schools in the US, lead this part of the workshop. All NEED learning activities are correlated to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.

Technology Tour

Among the biggest exhibit floors in the energy industry, the OTC exhibit floor reveals all aspects of the offshore oil and gas industry. From blowout preventers to crew quarters for offshore rigs, the exhibit floor has it all! Participants in both workshops get to tour and chat with energy professionals displaying their technologies and services.
